This skein of yarn is made from wool from our sheep, lockspun and then plied with a handspun lace weight yarn, also from our sheep's wool. Both the lockspun and lace weight are from the same grey fleece, wool from our Mrs. Hughes.
This is enough to make the bumbly hat pattern:
This skein makes 1 “Bumbly Hat”
Size 6 circular needle, 16". Cast on 60. K1P1 for 2.5 inches.
Then place marker and switch to stockinette stitch for 4 inches.
Then begin the decreases, *Knit 3 knit 2 together* repeat between ** to end of row. Knit 2 rows in stockinette.
Then *knit 2 knit 2 together* repeat between ** to end of row.
Knit 2 more rows in stockinette. At this point you may want to switch to size 6 double pointed needles.
*Knit 1 knit 2 together* repeat between ** to end of row, knit 2 rows stockinette.
Then knit 2 together all the way around, pick up the stitches with a sewing needle, draw it tight and knot it off.
