This yarn was processed and spun at a fiber mill from wool from our flock of soft shetland sheep. The wool came from all of the fawn skirtings from our 2020 clip. After years of discarding our skirtings from our soft shetland fleeces I realized that even the britch wool from our sheep is soft enough to provide to knitters and crocheters. As it is a compilation from many sheep, I am not providing the micron data nor photos of the ewe. The lot is identified as the year of the clip, so its 2020 Fawn. The skein is 400 yards, and weighs 4 oz.
We breed for fine wooled shetlands with very crimpy fibers, so you can wear the wool next to the skin and it is bouncy and elastic.
